Healite Combo Global 2-3

What is Healite II LED

Light therapy (phototherapy) has become a very popular treatment over the past few years. This is a treatment that feels extremely pleasant to receive which no doubt contributes to its popularity. However, many people may not realise just how effective this treatment is for a number of clinical indications, and that there is a large body of scientific evidence behind this modality dating back several decades.

Healite II uses light to cause positive cellular changes. This is called low-level light therapy (LLLT) and it is utilised to enhance your body’s natural cellular recovery with multiple therapeutic applications including improved wound healing, relieving pain, treating active acne and non-melanoma skin cancer and promoting skin rejuvenation.

Healite II deliveries various wavelengths of light via a light emitting diode (LED) in a safe, yet concentrated manner to ensure effective results without physical or thermal damage.

Who is a suitable candidate

Healite II can be used as a stand-alone treatment or more commonly as an adjunct to other treatments that we perform.

This treatment is suitable for all ages and skin types.

830nm (with 590nm photosequencing) (yellow light) phototherapy has well documented effects on healing at a cellular level. It is extremely useful as an adjunct to many treatments, and as such we offer this to our patients after picosecond laser, vascular laser, IPL, chemical peels including Cosmelan® and skin needling to speed recovery, reduce discomfort, limit downtime and enhance therapeutic results.

Our skin cancer patients who have undergone skin-flap repair with us also benefit from Healite II 830nm/590nm treatment, shortening their healing time and limiting scar development in those at higher risk.

The same wavelengths are also useful in decreasing bruising and swelling after dermal filler or anti-wrinkles injectable treatment.

The 415nm (blue light) is a specific wavelength for active acne. It forms part of our overall management of acne.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT)
PDT involves the application of a topical medicine to the skin which is then activated by the 633nm (red light) wavelength. This treatment is specifically used to treat various forms of non-melanoma skin cancer and for general skin rejuvenation.

What to expect

Healite II treatment is a pain-free and non-invasive treatment with no downtime.

The device has a large mobile head which can be manipulated into various positions to allow any area of the body to be treated.

You will feel a comfortable and relaxing warm sensation during the treatment.

Depending on the indication, wavelength and intensity, the treatment session will take between 10-20 minutes.

How are we unique

All LEDs are not the same

For LED treatment to be effective, the correct wavelength and treatment course has to be chosen and the device must have enough power to deliver the right amount of energy to the correct depth of the desired target tissue.

Healite II uses 1800 individual high quality LEDs, with both photosequencing technology (PST) and optical lens array technology (OLAT) to achieve the desired outcomes. The Healite II technology has been validated by studies in a number of reputable peer reviewed journals. These effects are not achievable with home-based LED devices nor many of the copycat devices.

The right tool for the right job

We take advantage of the fact that we have a full suite of energy and non-energy based treatments, as well as the skill, know-how and experience to manage a wide range of clinical conditions from a medical point of view. We, as doctors, are able to integrate Healite II treatment into our overall treatment plan, rather than use it as a panacea for everything.
